Finally, the first Sunday of Advent is here! How quickly the year has flown by. Now it’s already December, and Christmas is fast approaching. This year, I’m doing a little Christmas blogging challenge for the month of December. For each Advent Sunday, I’ll be posting a blog entry about Christmas. Today, it’s all about the best Christmas places. As you probably know, I’ve been living in Portugal for a while now. It can be a pleasant 15 degrees Celsius at this time of year, but of course, we don’t want to let that dampen our Christmas spirit. I’m sharing my favourite Christmas markets around Lisbon with you:

Wonderland Lisbon
Dates: November 28, 2025 – January 4, 2026
Location: Parque Eduardo VII
How to get there: Marquês de Pombal metro station
Things to do: Ride the Ferris wheel, eat and drink, buy things at the stalls, ice skate
Cost: Free admission
2. Rossio Christmas Market
Dates: November 14 – December 21, 2025
Location: Praça d’Odré IV
How to get there: Metro station: Rossio
Things to do: Drink mulled wine, listen to music, buy things
Cost: Free
3. Prada do Comercio
- Christmas tree
- beautiful view of the Avril 4 bridge
4. Christmas Lights in Baixa and Chiado
– Streets like Rue Augusta, Rue Garrett, and Avenida da Liberdade are especially beautiful. The lights invite you to take a stroll and put you in the Christmas spirit.
