Review 2022

This year has also flown by. In a few days we already have 2023, hard to believe. There will be some changes in 2023 for me and I’m looking forward to it but of course I also have some concerns. Hopefully, in the end, everything falls into place as it should be and feels good.

At the beginning of the year, I started the 101 Things 1001 Days list with my sister. This list is about 101 things that you want to do (wishes, dreams and goals) in 1001 days. Since you often have goals but don’t implement them because you think you have enough time and will do it later.  Honestly, I haven’t done so much of the list but I’m on it, because I really want to finish it. In the beginning of the year I wanted to visit more museums in Berlin, which I also did diligently throughout the year. To do this, I use the first Sunday of the month, because on this day many museums in Belin are free and you only have to get a time slot ticket, which are released a week before the Sunday. Berlin has so much more to offer than just partying. Maybe next year I’ll manage to write you a Berlin tour guide.

Speaking of travel, in the summer there was the 9 Euro Ticket in Germany with which you could travel throughout Germany for 9 euros a month from June-August on regional trains. It was a great way to see more of Germany and save money. In July I visited a friend in Lüneburg, in August I was with my sister in Greifswald and Lübeck. My sister also visited me in Berlin and we had a great time together. For all three cities I used the 9 Euro ticket and I wrote a short post. If you want to check out feel free to click on the links. In October I went to Amsterdam from Berlin to visit an au pair friend I met at the Cultural Care Training School in New York City back then, who also lived near Seattle. It was really nice to see her again after such a long time and to spend some time with her.

At the beginning of December, my sister visited me again in Berlin and we went to a concert. Unfortunately, she went again the next day, because I had to work. Over Christmas I was at my parents house, the week has unfortunately passed much too quickly and I was sick. However, I had a nice time with my family. We also watched the second Avatar movie in the cinema. Finally after so long time this came in the cinemas. In general, I visited my parents often this year because it offered to visit the family and it was also a good change from city life.

I hope you had a nice Christmas feast and I wish you a Happy New Year 2023.

Best,

Saskia
